Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to the Brave Water Sports FAQ center. We understand that choosing the right towable is crucial for your safety and enjoyment on the water. To help you make an informed decision, we have compiled a list of the most common questions regarding our products, maintenance, and usage. Our goal is to ensure you have all the information you need to dive into your next aquatic adventure with confidence.

What types of towables does Brave Water Sports offer?

We pride ourselves on offering a diverse range of towables designed to cater to every type of rider. Our collection includes:

  • Multi-Rider Decks: Spacious platforms designed to accommodate groups of friends or families. These are perfect for social tubing and offer a stable ride.
  • Speed Slides and Racers: Sleek, aerodynamic tubes built for the thrill-seeker. These are designed for high-speed runs and tight turns.
  • Cones and Towables for Tricks: Specifically engineered for performing spins, 360s, and other maneuvers. These often feature multiple handles and durable kneeling pads.
  • Pool Toys: While we specialize in towables, we also offer a selection of high-quality pool floats and inflatables for relaxed backyard fun.

What is the weight limit for your towables?

Safety is our top priority. The weight limit for each towable varies depending on the model and its intended use. Generally, our single-rider tubes support up to 200 pounds, while our larger multi-rider decks can support anywhere from 400 to 800 pounds. Always check the specific product description on bravewatersports.com for the exact weight capacity before purchasing. Exceeding the recommended weight limit can compromise the structural integrity of the towable and increase the risk of accidents.

How do I properly maintain my Brave Water Sports towable?

Proper care extends the life of your investment and ensures it remains safe to use.

  • Rinse After Use: Always rinse your towable with fresh water after use, especially if it has been in saltwater or chlorinated pools. This prevents corrosion and material degradation.
  • Dry Before Storage: Never store your tube while it is wet. Mold and mildew can grow in damp environments, damaging the fabric and creating health hazards.
  • UV Protection: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can weaken the PVC material. We recommend using a UV protectant spray when storing your tube for long periods.
  • Check Seams and Valves: Regularly inspect the seams, handles, and inflation valves for signs of wear or leaks before each use.

Can I use a towable if I am not a strong swimmer?

While towables are designed to be safe, we strongly recommend that all riders, regardless of swimming ability, wear a US Coast Guard-approved life jacket at all times. Our towables are meant to be used in conjunction with proper safety gear. If you are not a confident swimmer, we suggest starting with slower speeds and staying close to the shoreline. Never ride alone; always have a spotter in the boat and a driver who is aware of your skill level.

Why is my towable losing air?

It is normal for towables to lose a small amount of air due to temperature changes (air contracts when cool). However, if you notice a significant loss, it may be a leak. To find a leak, fully inflate the tube and apply a mixture of water and dish soap to the surface. Bubbles will form at the site of the leak. Our towables come with a repair patch kit. Clean the area around the puncture, apply the adhesive, and press the patch firmly onto the surface. Allow it to dry completely before reinflating.

What is the return policy for defective items?

We stand behind the quality of our products. If you receive a towable that is defective or damaged, please contact our customer service team immediately. We will work with you to resolve the issue, which may include a replacement or repair, depending on the nature of the defect. Please note that normal wear and tear, or damage caused by improper use, is not covered under our warranty.

Is it safe to tow a tube behind any boat?

Not all boats are suitable for towing. Your boat must have enough horsepower to safely pull the weight of the riders. As a general rule, a 35-50 horsepower engine is the minimum recommended for towing a single tube. Additionally, never tow a tube from the stern of a jet ski unless the manufacturer explicitly approves it, as this can be extremely dangerous. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for your specific watercraft.

How do I know which towable is right for me?

Choosing the right towable depends on your skill level, the size of your group, and your budget.

  • Beginners: Look for tubes with high backrests and secure kneeling positions.
  • Families: Opt for multi-rider tubes with seat belts or safety straps.
  • Experts: Choose open-deck designs or race tubes for maximum maneuverability.
  • Young Children: Ensure the tube has safety belts and is designed for smaller riders.

Can I leave my towable inflated all the time?

We do not recommend leaving your towable fully inflated for extended periods, especially in hot weather. Heat causes the air inside to expand, which can put stress on the seams and valves, potentially leading to ruptures. It is best to deflate your tube slightly if you are not using it for a few days, or store it in a cool, shaded area.

Does Brave Water Sports offer any warranties?

Yes, we offer a limited warranty on all our products against manufacturing defects. The warranty covers issues related to workmanship and materials under normal use. It does not cover damage caused by sharp objects, prolonged exposure to the elements, or improper maintenance.
